On the trail of the Hyundai-Kia, SsangYong wants to enter the US with Tivoli and new Rexton

Currently controlled by the Indian Mahindra and occupying the position of third largest automaker in South Korea, SsangYong goes ahead with plans to enter the United States. As explained Pawan Goenka, a spokesman for the company, market studies commissioned by the company are being finalized and the first two models to be launched in the country are practically defined. According to the executive, the brand will debut for the Americans with Tivoli crossover and the next generation of Rexton.

The expectation of SsangYong is treading a similar path traveled by the Kia and Hyundai compatriots and strong bet on cost-effective to capture the market. If things go as planned, landing manufacturer in the country should happen in the next two or three years. Until then, the line of SUVs and crossovers will be renewed and improved to meet local tastes. Comparatively, it is said that the brand positioning will be similar to the Jeep.
