Scheduled to go into production later this year, the car will benefit from thousands of miles extreme tests in Europe, Bahrain and Qatar. "These tests have pressed the car's performance to its limits and are designed to further improve the cooling and aerodynamic model," McLaren said in a statement.

The manufacturer also said that the production model will have significant weight savings and a hybrid powertrain optimized to the slopes (gasoline-electric). McLaren refused to go into details, but the concept should have an engine 3.8 liter V8 twin-turbo and an electric motor, producing a combined power of 1000 horses.
